The Food Waste Challenge, an initiative of the Global Shapers Hub Stockholm, is an innovation competition designed to identify innovative ideas to tackle food waste in Stockholm with the winning idea securing a SEK 50,000 grant from Envac, one of the world’s largest waste management companies, and access to diverse mentors and partners. In this Finale, we are excited to be presenting the winning idea and how they are planning on tackling food waste!
Ten years ago, almost no one had heard of Swedish wine. Now the vineyards are spreading across southern Sweden and the industry is growing every year. Growing and making your own wine is a relatively new phenomenon in Sweden. In 1999, Sweden became an approved wine country by the EU. Since then, Swedish viticulture has grown so fast - from a few modest garden vines to an industry with 50 professional growers, 160 hobby growers and 100 hectares of green and blue grapes. We find most wineries in Skåne for climatic reasons. There are also enthusiastic growers along the coasts of Halland and Bohuslän, as well as on Öland and Gotland
Jane has picked out 4 Swedish wines and 4 grape-typical glasses from the Riedels Vertias series and guides us through an experience that shows what a difference it can be to enjoy wine in the right glass. The difference can be so great that even an experienced tester will be surprised.
