Maria J. Bustamante is a PhD candidate at the Department of Marketing and Strategy at the Stockholm School of Economics. A former farm girl turned urbanite, Maria’s research combines her personal and professional experience in farming, regional economic development, technology and entrepreneurship. Primarily drawing on innovation and valuation studies, she is exploring how digital technologies are encouraging new forms of collaboration and the incorporation of values such as sustainability and resiliency into the food system by establishing new business models and new markets for path-breaking innovations.
