Gerardo has over 25 years of marketing experience in CPG having started his career at Kraft Foods in the UK working on many iconic brands across multiple food & beverage categories. His backbone of experience is with Nestle, which to date has provided leadership roles in Petcare divisions both in the UK and Europe, as global lead in the Food Strategic Business Unit managing frozen, chilled and snacking portfolios and an expatriate assignment in the Nordic region as Commercial Director for food, confectionery and dairy business successfully executing a turnaround plan. Over the last eight years he has been a core member within the Global Marketing Team supporting the generating demand community and leading capability building via “Brand Building the Nestle Way” (BBNW) which focuses on key fundamentals including articulation of brand essence, consumer centricity, activation of the brand idea and using metrics that matter to validate results in ensuring brand building actions are aligned globally. He is a valued subject matter expert in front end innovation – coaching and building functional excellence with market champions in the pursuit of developing an agile mindset. Gerardo has also successfully launched HENRi – the first global open innovation platform for Nestle, further reinforcing his passion for bringing the “outside in” and forging partnerships with start-ups and external entrepreneurs. In 2017 he was also given the additional responsibility of managing the “Digital Acceleration Team” (DAT) which is a ten-month leadership programme, launched in 2012, and designed to accelerate digital transformation across Nestle by developing digital capabilities in generating demand roles.
