Erik Lundgren
Erik Lundgren is a high chief in his village in Samoa, a food activist in the no-go zones of Nairobi and the founder of Ljusgårda – the first industrial vertical farm to have a considerably lower environmental impact than its agricultural counterparts. He believes that our only hope for a sustainable food system is to strive for a symbiotic relationship between industry and nature. He calls it Bio-Industrial Synergy. For him, it is clear that the human drive for progress and improvement outweighs the desire to consume sustainable and responsibly. To maintain human development without destroying the planet he advocates for a paradigm shift in how we leverage and accelerate the possible interplay and synergy between industry and nature.
