Birgitte is a specialist in protein chemistry that combined with her inherent curiosity has built scientific and technical competences in a broad spectrum of scientific areas. Birgitte has been a major player in numerous international collaborations both in academic and industrial settings. She is mastering the balance between the need for scientific background understanding and commercial product development that meets the consumer wishes. Scientific challenges stimulate Birgitte’s motivation and foster her innovative mindset to generate elegant solutions. Her never-ending enthusiasm to explore new opportunities is central to her reputation. Birgitte’s educational background is a master’s degree in biochemistry from University of Copenhagen and a PhD in Structure and Function of Membrane Proteins from The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. She has a solid scientific background in basic research from University of Copenhagen, The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Uppsala Biomedical Center, UC Berkeley, and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. Birgitte has 20+ years’ experience from the biotech industry – ranging from pharmaceutical to technical and food areas.
