B.Z. Goldberg is Co-founder and CEO of The Mediterranean Food Lab, a flavor company using Solid State Fermentation to produce unique, highly complex flavor and sensorial materials to tackle some of the food systems greatest challenges. BZ is a serial entrepreneur, award-winning film director, and food systems researcher. He was a management consultant focusing on innovation and change management for Fortune 100 companies and small closely held private firms such as Deloitte & Touche, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Columbia University, Solidarity Social Foundation (Poland), Toyota (Japan), Kawasaki Heavy Industries (Japan), Levis Straus, and others. In the last decade BZ has been focusing on large food system issues. Before launching MFL, BZ was the founder of international initiatives focusing on grain biodiversity in the Middle East, and consultant to projects utilizing cross-disciplinary approaches
to address food security crises of refugees in the Syrian conflict.
